How long to e-cigarette batteries last?


This is a very common question beginning vapors, and current smokers alike want to know.  How long do the batteries of electronic cigarettes last?  The answer is this:  it depends.  How long e-cigarette batteries last depends on three factors:

Factors that determine how long e-cigarette batteries last:

  1. How big is the electronic cigarette battery (how many mAh’s)
  2. How often are you using it — How many draws per hour are you taking?  How long are your draws?
  3. What is the voltage set at?  — Only applicable to variable voltage batteries.


The first factor is very easy to explain.  The bigger the battery, the longer the battery will last.  All of our batteries at have a mAh rating, from 180mah for the smallest ‘cigarette sized batteries of our 510 line, to 2000mah batteries in our DNA30 mod,  and going even further, our battery boasts a 4400 mAh battery.  The bigger the mAh, the longer the battery will last before you need to recharge it.

The second factor is really personal experience.  People who don’t vape too much (often customers who used to smoke 1/2 a pack of cigarettes or less) will often find even our smaller batteries lasting them all day.   People who vape a lot — often customers who smoke more then a pack of cigarettes every day — will find that the smaller 510 style batteries will only last them 2 or 3 hours between charges.  The bottom line is, if you currently smoke a lot, you are much better off looking at a battery that is bigger then the small 510 batteries.  The peace of mind knowing you can leave your house and your battery will last you all day is worth the larger size battery.

The third factor is only applicable to batteries with variable voltage.  Variable voltage simply means that you can adjust the current or voltage of your battery higher or lower.  The more voltage, the more power the battery is expending each second it is on, and therefore the shorter the battery will last.   Variable voltrage batteries is a bit mroe advanced a topic, so we will leave the details for another question, however just realize that the higher your voltage, the shorter the life of your battery.

So now that you know the three main factors in electronic cigarette battery life, the answer to the question is simple:  It depends.

  • Typically, smaller 510 style batteries will last you anywhere from 2 hours to the entire day.
  • Typically, larger EGO style batteries will last you anywhere from 6 hours to several days
  • Typically XL and EVic batteries will last you anywhere from 1 day to 5 days.

The other thing to consider is how many charges a battery can be re-charged before they start to lose their charging ability.  Typically lithium ion batteries can be recharged 200-300 times and retain optimal charging times, after which point the batteries will start to lose their charging abilities.  So the bigger the battery, the less times it needs to be charged, and therefore the longer overall the battery time you will have with your battery.

E-cigarette will be classed as medicines?



Recently, The UK authoristies propose to introduced a new legislation next year to class electronic cigarette as medicines, but this proposal provoked fury in the industry, the e-cigarette manufacturers say the will not co-operate unless forced to do by Europe law. they said that it will force e-cigarette out of the market.
The Medicines and Healthcare products Regulatory Authority (MHRA) said the government wanted to regulate electronic cigarette products, It"s not about banning products that some people find useful,it mean that licensed e-cigarettes could be prescribed to help smokers cut down or quit. it"s about making sure that smokers have an effective alternative that they can rely on to meet their needs.
Industry trade association, Ecita said: "Nicotine containing products can only be considered a medicine when they claim to help users quit smoking. Electronic cigarettes do not do this: they simply allow users to satisfy their desire for recreational nicotine – a perfectly legal drug – without the thousands of harmful chemicals produced by burning tobacco.Courts around Europe have already ruled that electronic cigarettes marketed without such claims cannot be reclassified as medicines, because this would lead to the absurd situation of tobacco cigarettes becoming medicines.
The manufacturers said that they will wait to see what will happen by the new legislation in Europe.

How do you use an Electric Cigarette?

What Is An Electronic Cigarette?

An electronic cigarette takes the form of some manner of elongated tube, though many are designed to resemble the outward appearance of real smoking products, like cigarettes, cigars, and pipes. Another common design is the "pen-style", so named for its visual resemblance to a ballpoint pen. Most electronic cigarettes are reusable devices with replaceable and refillable parts. A number of disposable electronic cigarettes have also been developed.


In automatic models, when a user inhales through the device, air flow is detected by a sensor, which activates a heating element that vaporizes a flavored liquid solution stored in the mouthpiece, which may contain nicotine. On manual models, the user must depress a button to activate the heating element to produce vapor which is then inhaled by the user. On most models an LED on the opposite end of the device is also activated during inhalation, which serves as an indicator of use.



While electronic cigarettes take many forms, they each generally employ the same basic components: a mouthpiece, a heating element, a rechargeable battery, and various electronic circuits.


The cartridge is a small tube which attaches to the battery. The cartridge which holds an absorbent material and wire coil that is saturated with a flavored liquid solution. The level of nicotine varies depending on the solution. This inner cup is made such that air is able to flow around it and through a hole in the end of the outer piece; this is necessary for the device to provide the ability for suction to move the vapor into the user's mouth. When the liquid in the cartridge has been depleted, it can either be refilled by the user or replaced with another pre-filled cartridge.

The cartomizer is a tank system which holds anywhere from 1.5ml – 3.0ml of liquid. Inside the tank is an atomizer with wicks that draw the liquid to the atomizer which vaporizes the liquid. When the liquid in the cartomizer tank is depleted the cartomizer tank can be refilled. The atomizer heads are replaceable and need to be replaced regularly.

The heating element serves to vaporize the liquid in the mouthpiece so that it can be inhaled. This component is referred to in the industry as an "atomizer". Atomizers last about 3-6 weeks (on average) and replacements are one of the recurring expenses associated with electronic cigarettes


Most electronic cigarettes employ a lithium-ion rechargeable battery to power the heating element. Battery life varies depending on the battery type and size, frequency of use, and operating environment. Many different battery charger types are available, such as wall outlet, car, and USB chargers. The battery is generally the largest component of an electronic cigarette.

Some electronic cigarettes employ an electronic airflow sensor to automatically activate the heating element upon inhalation, while other models require the user to press a button while inhaling. Various other electronic circuits are usually employed as well, such as a timed cutoff switch to prevent overheating and a colored LED to signal activation of the device and also to mimic the glow of a cigarette's end tip.

Traditionally, electronic cigarettes have utilized an electronic means of activation. This involved the use of small tactile switches, vacuum switches and the related wiring and electronics necessary to run them. Users soon discovered these could be unreliable. With the advent of "mods", several manufacturers have created all-mechanical electronic cigarettes that eliminate the use of any wiring, solder or electronics in an effort to improve switch reliability.

While some larger electronic cigarette models employ a user-replaceable standard-size battery cell, many models are too small to house a standard-size cell and instead require a proprietary component made by the electronic cigarette manufacturer. For those models, the battery and electronic components are housed within a single replaceable part, which is still generally referred to in the industry simply as the "battery".


There have been some recent developments with the implementation of mobile phone battery technology into this market sector allowing the electronic cigarettes batteries to be charged on the go in a crumple proof box known as a Personal Charging Case. The rechargeable battery inside the Personal Charging Case allows the user to charge the battery stems inside the case and store the replacement cartomizers/cartridges too. The recharging box/case is also the same size as a packet of traditional tobacco cigarettes
